St Nicholas Prayer Shawl Ministry

The idea behind this ministry began in 1998 at the Hartford Seminary in Connecticut U.S.A.
Reading about this, our Tuesday Prayer Group took up the idea and adapted it for use in
our Group of Churches.

Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been prayed into every stitch. This is a prayerful ministry which reaches out to those in need of comfort and God's strength.

The shawl makers begin with prayers and blessings for the recipient. Upon completion a blessing is prayed over the shawl by the whole congregation in Sunday Worship at Church before it is sent on its way.

This ministry has been greatly appreciated and we have also been blest as a Church family in receiving letters of thanks from those
receiving the shawls.
